Members of the Korea National oil Corporation participate in the 2015 Government 3.0 Best Practice Contest in Ulsan on Dec. 14.

The Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC, President Seo Moon-kyu) hosted the “2015 Government 3.0 Best Practice Contest” at the headquarters in Ulsan on Dec. 14, with its executives and employees in attendance, to seek and share Government 3.0 Best practices and spread encouragement throughout the company.

At the contest, a total of 32 best practices were submitted in four key sectors of Government 3.0 – “serviced government,” “competent government,” “transparent government,” and “working process innovation” – and eight best practices, which were selected after the primary documentary review, were presented.

The best practices included a case to pass on the KNOC’s expertise in process safety management (PSM) to small and mid-size companies that are vulnerable to safety management. There was also a case of working together with public institutions in Ulsan to mutually support record management and joint research activities. And, finally, there was a case to disclose the price of tax-free oil for farmers and provide open API services for oil price information.

The KNOC started the Government 3.0 Best Practice Contest last year. Also, it is continuously working to realize a competent government by developing customized services for the people, cooperating in the administration between institutions, and create the results, which can be felt by the people, by improving work methods.

As a state-run oil company, the KNOC is planning to seek good Government 3.0 projects by making use of its long-time experiences, expertise and networks in the oil stockpiling, oil development and oil information sectors.

Moreover, it will make every effort to support private companies’ activities and create jobs for the people by sharing information and infrastructure, cooperation, education, skill instruction, R&D support, and joint business deals.
