Market experts expect new Galaxy S6 orders to hit over 55 million units this year. Global market analysis provider DRAM eXchange says that Samsung Electronics Co. will sell 20 percent more phones than its previous estimates for the shipment of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. This latest premium smartphone creates strong customer demand with its advanced specs and upgraded features.
DRAMeXchange forecasts that 22.2 million units of the Galaxy S6 will be sold in the second quarter, which is five million more than its former estimation. It also projects some 16.2 million units in the third quarter, followed by another 12.5 million in the fourth quarter of this year.
Debuted at the Mobile World Congress, the most important global smartphone showcase in Barcelona early this month, the new Galaxy S6 series has captured the imagination of consumers with the looks and the specs of a flagship phone worth its salt. They reportedly won customer praise, enhancing Samsung’s competitiveness in the world market with cutting-edge features. One of them includes built-in wireless charging capabilities, which offer all the convenience of charging without any of the hassles of wires for the first time in the industry. And Samsung even has an Apple Pay competitor, its mobile payment system “Samsung Pay,” further improving international competitiveness.
The new phone pair is typically reliable and brimming with high-performance hardware, but it's too early to know if that's enough to reverse Samsung's down-turning sales record to dent Apple’s plastic built mega-success. Samsung’s ambitious plan to regain its lead in the global smartphone market will bear metal fruit this April.
