Korea Energy Agency’s new renewable market development team and related officials operate a counseling booth in the Korean Pavilion at the PV EXPO 2016 held at the Tokyo Big Sight in Japan, on March 3.

Korea Energy Agency (KEA) announced on March 3 that it has sent out its new renewable market development team to the PV EXPO 2016, which is being held from March 2 to 4 at the Tokyo Big Sight in Japan, to run the Korean Pavilion and hold business conferences inviting foreign buyers. The PV Expo is part of the World Smart Energy Week 2016.

KEA is operating the Korean Pavilion, which is consisted of 16 booths, together with 9 domestic companies, and is introducing various Korean solar power technologies, such as frame facilities for solar power, panel cooling systems and reactors, in the Japanese market.

During the expo, KEA is inviting foreign buyers to business conferences in order to expand participating companies’ global sales outlets and establish their overseas networks, helping domestic new renewable energy firms push into the Japanese market.

An official from KEA said, “Japan needs to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 26% by 2030 compared to 2013 and its retail electricity market will be fully liberalized in 2016. Accordingly, the new renewable energy market in Japan is expected to grow.”
