LG Electronics has halted the global rollout of its new Urbane 2 watch due to some hardware issues. The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE was to be the first of the new breed of Android Wear devices that could make calls and use cellular data without the need for a paired phone.
According to foreign media network, including an American information and technology news service provider The Verge, LG Electronics cancelled the release of the Urbane 2 watch which was supplied through AT&T in the U.S. from Nov. 20.
The report said that the model was found to have some hardware problems impacting the everyday functionality of the device which led to the temporary suspension of sales of the smartwatch. LG Electronics has not revealed when the problems will be fixed. AT&T began preselling the LG Urbane 2 on Nov. 12.
It will be pulled off from the shelves until the problems are fixed. The LG Urbane 2, which was unveiled in September along with its latest main V10 smartphone, hasn’t gone on sale in the domestic market yet.
