Kim Ki-moon, chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, says Haeju or Nampo would be more appropriate places for another industrial park in North Korea on February 4.
Kim Ki-moon, chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, commented on the second Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC) during the February 4 meeting with reporters at the 63 Building in Seoul.
He said, “The Najin-Sonbong Special Economic Zone that North Korea recommended has shortcomings. Its logistics environment is not good, and the power supply is not smooth, either.” The Chairman added, “In the mid-long term, Haeju or Nampo would be a more appropriate place.”
His specific mention of the two cities is due to the fact they have competitive edges such as their proximity to KIC and a lot of people that are available for jobs in the region.
