LG Electronics is to release its water purifying refrigerator in nine countries including China, the U.S., India, and Australia, the company said on May 28.
The water purifying refrigerator is the convergence of of 824 liter refrigerator and an ice water purifier, the company said. The number of the products sold per month in South Korea is over three thousand, the company said, expecting the product’s success in the global market as well.
The water purifying refrigerator removes any heavy metals and germs in the water, the company said, which also provides a “home care” service, where a “health care” manger visits households using the refrigerator to replace the used filter with a new one, as well as sterilize the water purifying parts, the company said.
Cho Sung-jin, H&A project chief manager of the company, said that he will advance towards the global refrigerator market with a product that provides strong convenience and hygiene.
