An increasing number of non-Korean hardware manufacturers are combining their products with Korean firms’ solutions to better penetrate the Korean market.
It has also been pointed out that Korean IT companies need to consider adopting similar strategies for their overseas business.
These days HP Korea, EMC Korea, Pure Storage Korea, and many more are developing and marketing products and services in cooperation with Korean IT firms. HP Korea is seeking domestic solutions to increase the sale of low-power server Moonshot, which is one of its next-generation data center solutions. EMC Korea is working with system integration firms and mobile carriers, too. Pure Storage Korea is partnering with Fusion Data as well as VMware and Citrix in the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) sector.
They explain that their collaboration with Korean IT firms is basically for marketing purposes but the Korean companies, on their part, need to make the most of the collaboration because the creation of successful examples in the domestic market can be shared worldwide via the Internet.
