LG Electronics’ two high-performance double oven range models (LDG3036ST, LDE3037ST) received a Sustainability Certification from the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) on Feb. 11.
Earlier, both the refrigerator and the washing machine from LG Electronics received the same certification in 2012 and in 2013, respectively. LG Electronics is the first in the industry with the refrigerator and the double-oven range to be verified to the new sustainability standard.
The AHAM adopted a Sustainability Certification in 2012 and continuously expanded products that meet the requirements of the certification in order to provide a standard for consumers to differentiate environmentally-friendly products.
The standard certification authority, which was assigned by the association, examines and verifies a product's environmental impact in five key areas: materials, manufacturing and operations, energy consumption during use, innovation, usability, and end-of-life management. Then, the authority issues a standards-compliance certificate if the product meets the environmental performance requirements.
LG Electronics is recognized for the environmental sustainability of its cooking appliances through the Canadian Standards Association, which is the standard certification authority assigned by the association.
