Hyundai Motors Launches New Model, Aslan, Targeting 22,000 Sales Units Next Year

Hyundai Motors launched the Aslan to compete with imported luxury cars.

On Oct. 30, Hyundai held an Aslan launching event at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul. The company plans to sell 6,000 Aslan units by this year and 22,000 by next year. The preliminary contracts starting from Oct. 6 surpassed 2,500, enabling the motor company to easily achieve the goal of this year's sales.

Aslan, which means “lion” in Turkish, is a mid-size sedan between the Grandeur and Genesis. It was developed to stand alongside luxurious German models such as the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes Benz E Class, and Audi A6, which have encroached into the domestic market.

For that reason, the sedan focuses on luxurious design, comfort, and quietness.
