Cutting-edge business suits that can automatically send name cards and switch on manner mode for smartphones placed in their pockets are now a reality.
“We will try hard to open a new chapter in men's suits and to lead the market with the convergence of fashion and IT,” said Cheil Industries in a press event for the launch of its Rogatis Smart Suit 2.0. The event was held at the Millennium Seoul Hilton hotel on Sept. 30.
The Rogatis Smart Suit uses a Near Field Communication (NFC) tag inserted inside the pocket of the jacket to work its magic.
The most notable characteristic is that it is possible to automatically unlock a phone by taking it out of a suit pocket. It is also possible to send name cards using SMS, e-mail, or NFC. The suit can also trigger a smartphone's etiquette mode, making it silent or blocking incoming calls. KT is the company that provides an NFC-based service and app.
Cheil Industries is planning to lead the market as a clothing company that merges IT and fashion with the launch of a more advanced Smart Suit 3.0 version next year.
